snow day part deux.

Let the wild rumpus start!

Campus is closed today, again. No complaints here but, I will say, I think they're getting soft; I don't think I have ever had two snow days in a row during my collegiate career thus far.

What to do with my day? I think I may do something I haven't done in a very long while--enjoy an adult beverage or two.
Happy Winter!

snow day.

Brrr baby, it's cold outside.

2AM, wide awake, yet not doing anything productive with this alert brain of mine.

Tis the season; the snow seems to have some odd affect on this soul along with the routinely annual return of people from the past.

Let's see where it takes me: to be continued...

ink=love.

Hooray hooray I'm your silver lining and now I'm [permanent]!

My baby brother is the best brother a girl could ask for. I may or may not have teared up a bit when he showed me.
I'm a very honored big sister today!

welcome to my nook.

My study book nook.
I'm a tired bear...and it's only Tuesday.

on rotation.

These three albums are musical candy to my ears and the light of my life at the moment.

[Regarding Wild Things; the only good parts of the film were the cinematography and the music. So, the feelings I thought would surface while seeing the movie actually come on just as strong, if not more so, while listening to the soundtrack and the score. I never need to see the movie again now that I possess the music that is the basis for the childhood feelings of bliss and spontaneity.]

Sometimes I simply wonder, "Um, what just happened?"

"Please take a long hard look through your text book
'Cause I'm history
When I strap my helmet on I'll be long gone
'Cause I've been dying to leave
Yeah, I'll ride the range and hide all my loose change
In my bedroom
'Cause riding a dirtbike down a turnpike
Always takes it's toll on me

I've had just about enough
Of quote, "diamonds in the rough"
Because my backbone is paper thin
Get me out of this cavern
Or I'll cave in

If the bombs go off
The sun will still be shining
Because we've heard it said that every mushroom cloud
Has a silver lining
(Though I'm always undermining too deep to know)
Swallow a drop of gravel and blacktop
'Cause the road tastes like wintergreen
The wind and the rain smell of oil and octane
Mixed with stale gasoline
I'll soak up the sound trying to sleep on the wet ground
I'll get ten minutes give-or-take
'Cause I just don't foresee myself getting drowsy
When cold integrity keeps me wide awake

Get me out of this cavern
Or I'll cave in

I'll keep my helmet on just in case my head caves in
'Cause if my thoughts collapse or my framework snaps
It'll make a mess like you wouldn't believe
Tie my handlebars to the stars so I stay on track
And if my intentions stray I'll wrench them away
Then I'll take my leave and I won't even look back

I won't even look back"

today in my brain:

I miss the ocean.

I need the dose of motivation that the beauty and the vastness of the sea gives me.

Quite an interesting read so far, one that I agree and disagree with all at the same time.
Taking it for what it is; a book of enlightening information.

I need to get Photoshop or something similar.
I want to be able to put a label on the photographs that I take myself and post on here.
Or, is there anyway to do that using iphoto?
Hm, if only I wasn't so technologically disabled.

my throat burns of coffee and cigarette smoke.

I watched the sun set, the darkness of the night pass me by, and the light of the morning rise.
My coffee companions were the chirping birdies.

Honestly, I must admit that I have not been devoting as much time as I should be to my english course that covers Milton in his entirety (for the most part.)
I am not an English major, nor could ever dream to understand this facet of education enough to ever compare myself to English majors.
I took this course as an upper division elective and signed up as a way to step out of my normal learning comfort zone. What I didn't realize was not only was I stepping out of this comfort zone, I was diving blindly out of it head first.
An exceptional grade is not within my reach for this course, but I hope to walk away with some knowledge that I would have never attained otherwise. The silver lining, I must always try to see that silver lining!
Tomorrow marks the date of our midterm and I am so beyond lost and overwhelmed.
I will be drowning in his works of literature and coffee all night long.
Hopefully, the analytical side of my personality will make an appearance tonight and tomorrow morning.
Fingers crossed on this one.

"Name an album I must have. I am bored with all of mine right now. I need a fresh breath of something new."
"Hmm, Leonard Cohen, Greatest Hits."
So far so good.
The boy with impeccable recommendations has yet to let me down.

"Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free."

chai morning.

Drowning in Milton, sipping on caffeine, listening to the 'chai morning' playlist. It is chilly out there today and I couldn't be more thrilled about it.
Familia - Mirah (Guy Sigsworth remix)
Gatekeeper - Feist
Shadows - Au Revoir Simone
Let Go - Frou Frou
I Feel It All - Feist
Isabelle - Gregory And The Hawk
Don't Die In Me - Mirah

homesick.

I am missing my main dudes like crazy. Times like these make me wonder if I could handle living thousands of miles away from them.
I do get a Papa visit tomorrow, which will hold my sanity together for the long week ahead.

Sandwiched between two fluffy down-feather comforters is where I lay my head this autumn eve.
Goodnight world.

H1N1

It's a negative...thank goodness.
I was fading fast there for a while trapped in my apartment like a contagious dying hermit.
I made it to Littleton to my surrogate family where I am receiving amazing maternal nurturing.
Hot tea and warm neck wraps are where it's at.
