Need to end anything before it actually begins?
Just ask me.
I am a plethora of knowledge on the subject, ready to hand out little tidbits!

these people are vampires.

I don't think I could ever get tired of this film.
I'm fairly certain that my soul belongs back in that era.
Oh, Jim Morrison, what a hot mess you were.
Not too much different from the person this movie will always remind me of. No matter how many years pass, those memories and feelings of complete manipulative toxicity always surface.
Sometimes I wonder how he is doing, totally locked away from society...
"Do you hurt? What hurts you the most?"
gobble.
My list can go on and on containing the things I am incredibly lucky to have in my life.
But, these two guys pretty much take the cake...no, they hands down take the cake. I would surely be lost without them.
I am very honored and lucky to play the roles of sister and daughter to these remarkable gentlemen.

with the lights turned on.
I don't know what it is about tonight/this morning that is extra creepy, but I can feel it.
Maybe it is the combination of the army of spiders on my porch and the scratching of single leaves while they blow along the pavement.
Whatever it is, I have my Shelter (which is hands down my most favorite tune at the moment.)

snow day part deux.

Let the wild rumpus start!
Campus is closed today, again. No complaints here but, I will say, I think they're getting soft; I don't think I have ever had two snow days in a row during my collegiate career thus far.
What to do with my day? I think I may do something I haven't done in a very long while--enjoy an adult beverage or two.
Happy Winter!
snow day.

on rotation.
These three albums are musical candy to my ears and the light of my life at the moment.
[Regarding Wild Things; the only good parts of the film were the cinematography and the music. So, the feelings I thought would surface while seeing the movie actually come on just as strong, if not more so, while listening to the soundtrack and the score. I never need to see the movie again now that I possess the music that is the basis for the childhood feelings of bliss and spontaneity.]

Sometimes I simply wonder, "Um, what just happened?"
"Please take a long hard look through your text book
'Cause I'm history
When I strap my helmet on I'll be long gone
'Cause I've been dying to leave
Yeah, I'll ride the range and hide all my loose change
In my bedroom
'Cause riding a dirtbike down a turnpike
Always takes it's toll on me
I've had just about enough
Of quote, "diamonds in the rough"
Because my backbone is paper thin
Get me out of this cavern
Or I'll cave in
If the bombs go off
The sun will still be shining
Because we've heard it said that every mushroom cloud
Has a silver lining
(Though I'm always undermining too deep to know)
Swallow a drop of gravel and blacktop
'Cause the road tastes like wintergreen
The wind and the rain smell of oil and octane
Mixed with stale gasoline
I'll soak up the sound trying to sleep on the wet ground
I'll get ten minutes give-or-take
'Cause I just don't foresee myself getting drowsy
When cold integrity keeps me wide awake
Get me out of this cavern
Or I'll cave in
I'll keep my helmet on just in case my head caves in
'Cause if my thoughts collapse or my framework snaps
It'll make a mess like you wouldn't believe
Tie my handlebars to the stars so I stay on track
And if my intentions stray I'll wrench them away
Then I'll take my leave and I won't even look back
I won't even look back"
'Cause I'm history
When I strap my helmet on I'll be long gone
'Cause I've been dying to leave
Yeah, I'll ride the range and hide all my loose change

Honestly, I must admit that I have not been devoting as much time as I should be to my english course that covers Milton in his entirety (for the most part.)

I am not an English major, nor could ever dream to understand this facet of education enough to ever compare myself to English majors.
I took this course as an upper division elective and signed up as a way to step out of my normal learning comfort zone. What I didn't realize was not only was I stepping out of this comfort zone, I was diving blindly out of it head first.
An exceptional grade is not within my reach for this course, but I hope to walk away with some knowledge that I would have never attained otherwise. The silver lining, I must always try to see that silver lining!
Tomorrow marks the date of our midterm and I am so beyond lost and overwhelmed.
I will be drowning in his works of literature and coffee all night long.
Hopefully, the analytical side of my personality will make an appearance tonight and tomorrow morning.
Fingers crossed on this one.

"Name an album I must have. I am bored with all of mine right now. I need a fresh breath of something new."
"Hmm, Leonard Cohen, Greatest Hits."

The boy with impeccable recommendations has yet to let me down.
"Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free."
chai morning.
Drowning in Milton, sipping on caffeine, listening to the 'chai morning' playlist. It is chilly out there today and I couldn't be more thrilled about it.

4 pages long; my pen met with the paper of my personal journal this evening.
I think more of this will be happening.
Post Script.
The ONLY (and I'm even willing to try to look passed it) downfall of my most favorite season; the actual changing of the season. Meaning, my bad knee feels like it's going to fall off.
Truth.

It has finally arrived in the mail! I have heard wonderful things about this memoir, and I am overly enthused to dive into it.
It has become a challenge to balance the amount of reading I want to achieve in my leisurely free time in conjunction with the amount of reading that is mandatory for me due to classes. I am fairly determined to give it a go.

oh, how I adore you.
This morning I woke up to the confirmation that it is in fact that time of year for my most favorite season. The clouds were in the sky, concrete wet with fresh mist, the gloom surrounded me, and the crisp shock of that cold air informed me that Autumn had arrived. Scarves and boots and mittens OH MY!
Fall, please stay a while. Winter, we are in no rush for you to come along!
